Welcome to Flybay!

Flybay is meant to enable Drosophila researchers to exchange published or unpublished fly strains, plasmids, or other reagents. For example, if you need a chromosome with a particular set of markers, and it is not available at a stock center, you can begin the 10-generation cross scheme to make it, and at the same time, post that you need it on Flybay. On the other hand, maybe you've made a strain or a set of strains or plasmids that you want to share. You might have published them or not, but you want people to know that you have them. You could post them on Flybay.

Items will be posted as either Offered Items or Needed Items. Posting a strain or reagent on Flybay means that you are offering it for free - the recipient is expected to pay shipping charges only. If you post a need for a strain or reagent on Flybay, then you are expected to pay the shipping charges if someone offers to send it to you.

To avoid companies posting advertisements, or other unwanted materials, we have set up a system where you can only join Flybay through invitation.
